MMBC Adds Two New Board Members

Meetings Mean Business Canada, 2022, Annual General Meeting

During the Meetings Mean Business Canada Annual General Meeting on Nov. 21, two new directors were elected, bringing to 20 the total number of directors serving on the volunteer board.

David Gazley, Vice-president, Destination Vancouver and John C. Dunn, Founder, Floor13, have each started a two-year term on the board (2022-2024).

Three board members—Jeff Nearing of Discover Halifax, Jennifer Allaby of the Canadian Association of Exposition Management (CAEM) and Laura Purdy of Toronto Exhibition Place—were each re-elected to serve a second, two-year term (2022-2024). The remaining 15 directors are completing the second of a two-year term (2021-2023).

MMBC extends sincere thanks to Barry Smith, Executive Director, Convention Centres of Canada, who did not stand for a new term, for the wisdom and guidance he has offered over many years to the Board and Executive Team.

During the Board of Directors meeting following the AGM, MMBC chair, Laura Pallotta, announced that Jennifer Allaby has joined the Executive Team as Secretary.
