Did you know that business travel accounts for 40% of Canada’s overall tourism industry? Destinations across Canada welcome business visitors year-round, from near and far.

Business travel isn’t seasonal!

Tourism Week 2023 takes place April 24-30, led by the Tourism Industry Association of Canada.

As a key sponsor of this initiative, MMBC is participating in a number of ways:

  • MMBC has taken TIAC’s Tourism Week tagline (CANADA: Powered by Tourism), and customized it for the meetings industry: Canada: Powered by Business Meetings & Events. We’ve created a new tool kit that you can use to spread the word.
  • Tourism Week kicks off Monday, April 24 in Ottawa. As presenting sponsor of the Opening Reception, MMBC will be well represented by members of the executive team: Chair Laura Pallotta, Vice-Chair Minto Schneider and Grant Snider, VP Membership & Engagement. Our representatives will have the opportunity to chat with elected officials, including Minister of Tourism Randy Boissonnault.
  • MMBC will be recognized in all of TIAC’s Tourism Week-related signage and communications, including in newsletters and social media channels.

Use the social media graphics, infographics and MMBC’s fact sheet to spread the word about the important contribution made by business travellers to Canada’s visitor economy.
