Sharpening Our Engagement Strategy

Meetings Mean Business Canada has updated and renewed its annual agreement with the Tourism Industry Association of Canada (TIAC) to further amplify, target and measure our advocacy and engagement efforts on behalf of the business events industry.

Throughout 2023, TIAC will be MMBC’s lead advocacy partner, assisting MMBC leadership to implement our Federal Advocacy Priorities Plan. TIAC will proactively incorporate key business events industry messaging into presentation and communication materials reaching Members of Parliament and other federal decision makers.

MMBC will participate in a number of advocacy initiatives during 2023, including:

Global Meetings Industry Day (GMID), March 30

Tourism Week in Canada, April 23 – 30, 2023

House of Commons Standing Committee on Finance pre-budget consultation process, October 2023

Hill Days in-person meetings with key Parliamentarians and senior federal officials, October 2023

Annual Tourism Congress, November 2023

Parliamentary Tourism Caucus meetings on topics pertaining to the business events sector, as the need and opportunities arise

TIAC communications: Inclusion in TIAC’s ongoing member communication channels (newsletters, webinars, etc.) to help raise general awareness and share pertinent news related to the business events sector
